if you buying a house in georgia, and you are a resident of florida, and if you a re a first house buyer, will you get a tax credit benifit

- Assuming you otherwise qualify for the first time homebuyer's credit, the house in GA will only qualify if it is your main home. "Main home" is loosely defined as the home where you spend most of your time.
- the credit is called FIRST TIME HOME BUYER credit, it doesn't distinguish what state it is in it has to be your primary residence and if you haven't done anything about it up to now, there is no chance for an $8000 credit
- The first time homebuyer credit is available for a house that you buy and move into as your main home. So, you can by the house in GA but to get the credit you need to go live in it!
