Why do Conservatives complain about Walmart and call it un-American? it's the perfect example of free markets?

they always say they are for free trade and free markets unfettered by Government regulations, well then why complain about one of the biggest consumer products dispensers taking advantage of the system Republicans helped put in place and passing the savings on to the average American citizen! sure a few ma and pa shops and local small business owners go out of Business every year because they can't compete, but in a truly free market that's how its suppose to work! its just like when Cons cry about jobs going overseas and thinking somehow tax breaks will bring them back to America, yet they fail to realize that tax breaks are nowhere near as profitable as cheap skilled labor! heck even i hired undocumented workers to re-tile the entire roof of my house for the same quality of work at half the price of a legal contractor, that's free markets at their best and i love it! so what makes you think you can have a truly free market while having a nationalistic attitude, the two are counter intuitive! you might as well give up and realize that you have already lost the war against globalization, because the rest of the world and big business are already well ahead of schedule seems to me Cons are really for fixed markets, which is why the Republicans support federal subsidies for the agricultrual, oil, coal, insurance, and every other industry in America! if you don't mind letting the unemployed go without, why not let these industries fail on their own dime instead of the the taxpayers? @ tongue: sending money to China by way of free markets is the American way! ;-)

  1. im pretty sure democrats complain about it as well.look at mayor daley of chicago.he doesnt want any more wal marts
  2. Odd premise in your question - conservatives complaining about Wal-mart. I am not aware that this is true, rendering the rest of your question fairly meaningless. A link would have been helpful here. Most conservatives are aware that Wal-mart has been an innovator in hot-docking and other aspects of logistics management, leading to lower prices for the consumer. However, if you want to shop at a mom and pop store, you certainly should be free to do so. An excellent blend of the best of both worlds can be found at Whole Foods.
  3. I admire Walmart. They run a great company. The liberal media tears them down every chance they get. Even though they are a huge advertiser.
  4. Wal-Mart is not Un-American. They just provide the ammo. It is Americans shooting themselves in the foot every time they shop there and send their dollars to China.
  5. I'm not sure what world you live in, but Walmart is demonized by the left, not free-enterprise people. Walmart is staunchly ( that means adamantly ) anti-union....which is one way they provide good values and low prices. Walmart is the perfect example of efficiency, an oxymoron to the left and big gov't types. Walmart is proof of what capitalism provides for a society, jobs and wealth. Your hat is too tight.
  6. No it isn't! They worked to shut down other stores and things. In my town Walmart decides what you buy instead of stalking what sells. They make you buy what they want you too. They don't care what the consumer wants. This is my opinion. They are not inexpensive anymore either.
  7. Conservatives can afford to complain...that simple I cannot...I know that they believe in gay rights and all that stuff. 3 gay men sew together my 5 dollar Walmart shirt while making gay love, i would be the first to buy it!!!! And hug all 3 of them on the way out the door!!!! The others can go to target and get the same shirt for 15 dollars
  8. It is the liberals that always complain about Walmart. If you look on this board for very long, it is the liberals who put down conservatives for shopping at WalMart.
  9. We don't. Only libbies complain about Walmart. And secretly, it's because of who shops there. They don't like these people struggling to feed and clothe their families. It's because brown people shop there, and libbies don't like them.
  10. Did SEIU bring you a new batch of Kool-ade?
  11. Sometimes you people confuse me.Walmart is cheap and convenient to shop at.The wages they pay are dirt and they have benefits out of reach for most employees .But to save money I shop there. You people need to find a few things to agree on and stop ripping each others throats out.
  12. Wal Mart is free market at its best, which is bad for the economy in general. And I like how conservatives are all for corporate welfare programs for Big Oil and other industires that are making huge profits, while now working to deny an extension to aid for the unemployed. Especially when it is clear that some companies in these same industries have been cutting corners ( to create even larger profits) and putting their workers at serious risk. A truly free market economy would work about as well as a "free market" society. Just like a society devoid of laws, an economy without regulations would eventalluy lead to anarchy, even conservatives must know that. What the conservatives are actually after is a sort of quasi-feudalism, where the few (very wealthy, and well connected) control and/or own everything, while the masses are left with nothing. When companies like Wal-Mart drive out smaller businesses, and force manufacturers to outsource their jobs in order to sell their products to Wal-Mart at ever lower prices, all they're doing is making themselves wealthier at everyone else's expense. I believe that the American leadership is turning a blind eye to companies like Wal-Mart and China's deliberate actions, which encourage the massive trade deficit between the two countries, in hopes of gaining favour with the Chinese government. Whether people like it or not China is the future, and having access to that billion , plus rapidly increasing in wealth, population will be a big bonus in the future. But gaining favour with China at the expense of the American worker makes no sense, and considering that China has shown little aversion to creating wealth at other countries' expense, it does not seem like a wise course of action.
  13. I am a RIGHT WING wacko and love wal-mart. Its the LIBS and unions that hate walmart.....why do you think they have a hard time gettingf into CA and IL?
