What is the single most important rule in house hunting?
I am talking about real estate.

- A Realtor that you can trust. Without a good Realtor, you'll be hard pressed to get good information.
- GET PREQUALIFIED 1ST! Don't buy more house than you can truly afford.
- Get your OWN Realtor. 1) Because a seller will NOT give you a discount for not having one (a huge misconception). 2) The seller's Realtor represents the SELLER and not you, and that includes on-site builder agents.
- Neighborhood and its growth potential. Termite protection and/or damage. Flood zoning for the property. Crime in the area.
- Never, ever do it when your so broke you can't afford to pay attention!
- 1. make sure you hunt for decent houses and not for ghosts. don't be fooled with nice locations or attractive wall papers, have you're family walk into all the rooms first and get their honest depp feelings first. 2. No termites!
- Get one you love because you will probably live there for a while!
- Great deals come along regularly don't be afraid to miss one.
- High quality of construction, built by a reputed builder at reasonable price in a decent locality of your choice.
