How can I create a paradigm shift?

I have recently finished development of the Owners Selling Network. ( http://www.OwnersSellingNetwork.com ) The network includes over twenty websites devoted to promoting everything from Owners Selling Cars to Owners Selling Real Estate. We are doing quite well on the search engines, but I feel if we can create a paradigm shift where people think of the term 'Owners Selling Airplanes' before they think of Airplanes For Sale By Owner' we will have a far better shot at being successful in this enterprise. I have added the term to Wikipedia's entry for 'For Sale By Owner' while adhering to their rules of not using their service for advertising purposes... But I am having trouble thinking of other ways to get the 'Owners Selling' term more recognized without spending a fortune in advertising. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

  1. "owners selling" to me sounds like "owners about to get ripped off because they don't know the market and will not get what their property is worth." Also, if they are paying a website to advertise for them, they should just be going through a real person.
  2. It would be very difficult since the standard terminology is pretty much set in stone in the minds of everyone. Something along the lines of "craigslist" but more like creating an "owners-list" with the main link being "owners selling".
  3. The popularity and ubiquity of the term FSBO arose through the classified sections of newspapers and circulars. Nowdays these are still an important term-maker, but they have lost a lot of infuence to the internet. If you could get either some newspapers or some web sites like craigslist or ebay to feature "Owners Selling" sections, ideally with links to your own site, you would be taking a big step towards encroaching on the popularity of FSBO.
  4. What you have done in terms of use of the internet is cool. The next is by creating links with similar site service. You link up with them and they link up with you. Another is, SMS campaign, flier distribution. small money to spend but can yield very good result.
