Is there extra property to own a house in florida?
I want to buy a house in Florida and I live in Canada. My real estates say there is no extra taxes. Is this true? I do not want any surprises. I have contacted the County but have not heard from them yet.

- There are property taxes, insurance, mortgage, interest, maintenance and so on.
- There are taxes in Florida, but the big expense is homeowners insurance. All the major companies no longer insure there because of all the hurricanes, and you can expect to pay about 6 times as much for homeowners insurance in Florida as you do in Canada, or anywhere else in the USA. There's a reason prices are dirt cheap in Florida.
- i have a partner who owns land in Port Charlott, FL and he will give you a very good deal. IT is perfect to build a house on it. Tell me your fears and he and I will work with you.
