Online House Hunting

I have a question about the tax sale on Monday. Our neighbors name is in the paper for not paying taxes....?

As of today, they still haven't been paid. My husband is going to the Courthouse or wherever it's taking place and is going to try to get it. The property in question is a single wide trailer on .19 acres of land for about $800. My questions are, if we win the bid, do we get both the trailer and land? How does this work? We know we have to have cash or a letter from the bank showing we have enough money to cover it. The only reason we would like to get it is because they are the worst neighbors...not kidding. Also, if we get the bid...what happens next? Do we give an eviction or does the court house? Also, what happens if no one bids on this property? Do they get to stay there while the taxes keep going up? Thanks!! We will give proper eviction notice...no forcing anybody out! The trailer and land are owned by the property owner. Additional info: It is in the state of PA and it says (No Redemption permitted after sale) Does this mean they can't get it back after it sales?

  1. If you win, you get whatever real estate your neighbor owned that was subject to unpaid tax. If you neighbor owned the land and the trailer and they were both subject to real estate, you get both. If your neighbor rented the land, and owned only the trailer, you get only the trailer, and you must either remove it from the land or pay rent to the owner of the lander. If this is a place where trailers are not subject to real estate tax, then you get only the land. The courthouse will not automatically evict the neighbor. It is illegal for you to remove them yourself by physically force. You will have to give them notice to vacate and then bring suit against them, at your own expense, in court to obtain an eviction order. Also, if you win, then you must pay any future taxes on the property until you sell it. Do not bid on the property if you cannot afford to pay whatever taxes will be due in the future.
