How do you feel about the government deciding when your home is fit to sell?

In the new cap and tax bill every american will pay more money for almost everything and industry will be hit hard with millions more job losses. But to the point!! One, amendment (of many,many) in the 1200 page tax plan says government will regulate homes. When you sell your house, environmental experts have to come in and do a survey to find out if you've got leaky windows, if all the environmental systems are correct, if you have relatively new appliances, and until you modernize in the way they say, you can't sell your home-- that's in the bill. You have to have modern appliances, a kitchen and that sort of thing, energy efficient TVs and this sort of stuff and until you replace all that stuff you can't sell it. Now, normally that would be up to seller and buyer. If the buyer wants to accept some old TVs and a kitchen that's not stainless steel, fine, you negotiate that on price. But now it's not going to be a matter of negotiation. Before you can be approved in selling your house, some government regulator is to come in and give you an examination. Change you can believe in? 3. Elderly people with old homes will loose their only investment they have. They will be destroyed. This bill is so evil. This bill is environmental terrorism against old people. oh yeah, and against the 10th amendment. Totally unconstitutional. fdm215, I watched them read that info right out of the stack of papers. You need to get past your racism and worshiping Obama and realize he is hurting America. And he wont pay your gas bill.
4. what are you talking about? energy efficient tv's? most people take their tvs with them when they move i thought. and waht does stainless steel have to do with being energy efficient? whats the difference. when you sell a home it goes through an inspection anyway. If you have leaky windows, chances are you'd have to fix them before anyone would buy it anyway.
5. I doubt your claims. Present the ACTUAL language from the bill...not some Right wing rehash of what its supposed to say. BTW, lots of states allow for buyers to have home inspections right now.
