should I file for extension if wanna buy a house in 2008?

planning to buy house later this year, do I have to file extension or not?

2. No, you don't need an extension. Any deductions and credits from the home purchase will be entered on your 2009 taxes.
3. You can file tomorrow then when you finalize paper work and move in your new house, then you can amend your 2008 to receive your credit and the $8000 this year.
