real estate, making offer?
we are looking to buy our first starter home. the home has 967 square feet. There are 3 bedrooms and 1 bath. it does need some updating. there is only a small yard. the asking price is $177,400. since the market is low, How low do you think I can make an offer? Here is the link of the house so that you can see for your self. http://coldwellbanker.com/servlet/PropertyListing?action=detail&ComColdwellbankerDataProperty_id=12863536&page=property

- nice house. You need a Real Estate agent. The buyers services are free to you. Who showed you the house in the first place? Get an agent from the Coldwell office, ask for someone other than the selling agent to work with. The manager will assign somebody or you can pick somebody online at the same website you referenced.
- I think an offer of $110,000 for this propert in this condition and location is fair but dont offer more not more.
- This is a short sale and already priced more then 50k below market. If you want the house and want it to close quickly offer 177,400. If you want to wait 6-8 weeks before it is accepted, but want it to be accepted 177k. If you do not care if it is accepted or not, and do not mind waiting 6-8 weeks for a decline, 160k. They are not likely to take it though. The bank las already figured their loss into the asking price, this IS the low market price.
- Great post! I completely understand your question. Money is hard for a lot of people right now since the enconomy is going down. My friend told me about this website of an organization that gives people up to $1500 towards their rent or mortgage. It's available in most areas, so I think you should check it out. http://www.help-house-rent-mortgage.org Hope this helps!
