Are you sick of hearing americans complain about gas and other things?

Cuz I sure am. Its all in their heads, Gas is only $1 more per gallon now http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/petroleum/data_publications/wrgp/mogas_home_page.html, then it was in 2006. In 2006, the median income was $2,000 less than it is now http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/income/histinc/p05ar.html. Most americans use 10 gallons of gas a week. So americans, on average, are paying $500 more per year in gas, but making $2,000 more a year from income. But Im American, but its getting really annoying. Americans dont have real problems. We are so spoiled that we have nothing else to complain about but unemployment and housing and gas prices. We always have homeless shelters to give us food and a place to stay if we need it (I know, I did community service at City Team, the largest one). I heard some lady whining about the 45 people who died in the tornadoes recently...... How many people died in China and Myanmar this past month? Like over 100,000!?? (I live in Asia half the year, but these 2 countries are the 2 that I really dislike because they are communist and how they treat their people, but its still horrible it happened). I just moved from a big city in California(San Jose) to a small town in Florida (Fort Pierce). I have a high school diploma and nothing else. I had no problem finding a job so I just tested the unemployment thing under many different factors and it still did not affect me. I also make money on the internet and people are still spending because Im still making money WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT AMERICANS AND GAS PRICES? (im not going to choose a best answer, I will let this go into voting because I dont want anybody to think that I chose someone just because they shared similar views on things) It doesnt bother me that they talk about the tornadoes. yes any loss of life is significant and a tragedy. It bothers me when it comes out of the mouths of people that could care less about those people in other countries. As far as changing the subject, I haven't been able to for a year. I went to Asia for 6 months and it was nice to not hear about gas prices (they just dont complain as much, I would stay there but visas are a problem). When I come on yahoo answers, the first thing I see is someone talking about gas prices, I go to the gas station and the lady is yelling at the guy because the sign outside was misadvertised by 2 cents, I turn on tv and the oil companies are in court. Its like a whole nation of gas price zombies that have nothing else on their brain. 5 years ago, you could have a conversation with someone without gas prices being a part of it. Its impossible now.

  1. Yes, I logged on the morning to the 1000 questions. why are gas prices so high? I want to do a virtual smack on their heads. We have it so good here in America and our poor people look like millionaires to most of those people in third world countries.
  2. no i think it is right to complain about the huge hike there has been in the price of petrol i don't think that the wages of the low paid has kept pace with this increase at $1 increase a gallon a tank might cost $50 - as much as $12 extra a tank .......two hours pay for some - just to fill up a tank i don't think that the US is the only economy complaining about house and fuel prices ......ask a Brit they'll tell you how expensive things are getting here too and i suspect other economies are struggling too as for homeless shelters should we need them ..... for goodness sake what a ridiculous thing to suggest ....we are spoiled things could be worse ...of course they could ...but do we need to be suffering at all is the real question
  3. I know things could be worse and that the things happening here in the US are hardly the end of the world. But I don't mind the complaining. Sometimes people just need to kvetch. I see no harm. If I ever get sick and tired of it (and sometimes I do) I just go to another website, delete the e-mail I'm reading or tell the person I'm talking to that I'm saturated and would like to change the subject. No biggie. I don't have to read or listen to anything I don't want to. No one's holding a gun to my head.
  4. Shut up and let us complain. Just because other people's problems are worse doesn't mean our problems don't still exist.
  5. Well I love America, especially to visit, however we all moan about something, I just wish they'd get some perspective about other countries before going on and on about something,. Image if they had to fill up in the UK , then they'd have something to really moan about. Every citizen in the world in any country has something that gets up their goat, its just a question of listening to their grievances and making a weighted decision to their opinions. As to the tornado deaths why shouldn't people express their views, it was a terrible loss of life, or do you make light of such losses, I don't.
  6. I'm only sick of hearing whiners like you complaining about nothing but Americans.
  7. When the USA is perfect then I'll stop complaining. The gas companies just get richer and richer. Our income barely covers necessities. Don't you think it would be nice some day to have an increase in pay that we could actually spend on something nice for ourselves instead of shoveling the money right back into the billionaire's pockets? We shouldn't complain you think because there's shelters and free food barns? If the billionaires weren't so greedy we wouldn't need shelters and food barns. Maybe we could actually live on our income! As far as the other countries you mention, USA is the most generous of all. Perhaps they need to dig themselves out of their own disaster just as we do.
  8. My grandfather used to say: "If your problem *has* a solution, why are you complaining; and, if your problem *doesn't have* a solution, why are you complaining...."
  9. Yes I am. America is becoming a nation of whiners and complainers. And it gets worse with every pampered generation. And what scares me is how they want government to "fix" everything. Like the government has ever "fixed" anything.
  10. I am more sick of having to pay those prices.
