Online House Hunting

Do the 8 days of house hunting go against your leave when pcs in air force?

Public Comments

  1. yeah why wouldn't it
  2. No, it's considered permissive TDY. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/travelpay/a/pcsentitlements.htm HOUSE HUNTING TRIP PRIOR TO MOVE. Military members are allowed a permissive TDY (Temporary Duty) for up to 10 days in conjunction with a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move between and within the 50 states & District of Columbia. By "Permissive TDY" that means there is no transportation or per diem paid, but members are not charged for leave.
  3. yak rider is correct: you get 10 days permissive TDY to do all that stuff. it doesn't count against your leave.
  4. no it doesnt...they are giving it to you so that you can find a place to live...the only thing is...after that 8 days you should have a good idea of where you are going to want to live because some bases and units are not so lenient when you say i dont have anywhere to live....does that make sense?
