Online House Hunting

How does one buy a house free and clear?

I saw an info-mercial about buying houses free and clear for anywhere from $600 to a few thousand. How does one find a house that cheap? How does one obtain houses with $0 down?

  1. If your family member or friend owns it.
  2. pay cash.
  3. Government foreclosures - you pay the back taxes on it but it's rarely that cheap.. and those that are.. are usually 1k square feet and badly damaged.
  4. Plop down the money and anything is free and clear.
  5. Beware, that is really just a racket. That was probably Russ Dalbey that you saw on tv....go to the website below and you will see what I mean.
  6. hum? how does one obtain houses with $0 down? Uhhh? pre-nuptual agreements? nothing like a good negotiation!
  7. You have to find a house that the county is going to take because the taxes haven't been paid. You pay the taxes and the house is yours. Doesn't happen too often, but if you did get a house for $600 it would probably be a piece of junk out in the middle of nowhere in the desert. I think you would be looking a $50,000 or $100,000 - Just my guess.
  8. a tax lien certificate might be what you are talking about
