- No...in almost all these situations the partner who keeps the house has to buy out the other partner.
- Most of the time the house is givin to the person who has the kids.As per having to buy him out when u have the kids i dont think so
- in most states its uyp to the judge if you live in anohter state and he lives in the house he has to buty you out they wontr let you keep two places he is entiltiled to half the equity in the home and he will have to pay child support unless you live in another state then he will be let out of it cause he cant see the kids talk to a layer he might get the house why do you need two houses?
- I was just told by a friend who's friend got the house for the first seven years. (If you have teenage boys, say until they get in college). And then after that, this woman sold it and split the money with him then. Your lawyer can suggest now is a bad time to sell, so it's better to wait. Plus, it gives you time to get your life in order. If you have a good lawyer, he/she can do this for you. Good luck!
- depends what other kinds of assets you have. If there's something else you guys own that means something to him that you'd be wiling to trade off then it's possible. For example, if he has a pension, you could give up your rights to his pension in exchange for the house, etc... or whatever other asset it might happen to be.
- nope
