Should I buy a house in South Florida right now?

Apartment or house? Which one? I just transferred here in Coral Springs, Florida.

5. Our insurance rates are outrageous due to Hurricanes (well, at least that's what the companies say!) I agree that you should think more seriously about an apartment unless you (a) think you'll be here for awhile and (b) really want to own rather than rent. 6. Florida is a beautiful state but if you are just starting a new job I would rent. You may not like your job or maybe just won't like living there. If you are renting it would be easier to make another move. Be careful about signing a lease also. Good luck on your job.
