Were can I buy green house rubber stuff in the UK?

I just got an old green house off our neighbor and everything is fine with it, except the rubber stuff between the metal frame and the glass is all rotten. I have looked around places (B&Q and various other large DIY stores) but cant find any of this stuff. Could anyone possibly tell me were on earth where/if I can buy some more of this stuff. Im in the east midlands (UK) if it helps. I'd rather buy from a store but dont mind buying any online.

  1. If they aren't leaking then don't touch, but if they are just use clear silicone.
  2. Ah, the previous answer does suggest that you need a mastic seal (Silicon). It comes in a tube and you will be advised if you need a 'skeleton gun' to use with it - don't worry, they're only about three or four pounds each. You will also be able to buy the mastic in various colours - if it doesn't matter, then you might get one colour at a cheaper price. What you have to remember is that it will come out of a tube rather than being a strip of something! Take a little bit with you and they will be able to confirm! Just go to your local builders merchant. Do you have Travis Perkins or Jewsons in your area?
  3. It's called (Greenhouse) "glazing gasket" you can buy it online, at http://www.cmsgardens.co.uk/eaccessory.htm although if you search you may find a local supplier
  4. Greenhouse outlets supply it by the metre . Check yellow pages for your local outlet.
  5. I think what you are referring to is rubber glazing strip. This sold by the yard regularly on E Bay as well as the spring clips etc.
