Anyone ever bought a house online?

Has anyone ever bought a house online without looking at it too much? If so explain the pros and cons. Just trying to see how many people have been screwed.

1. I bought a flat on line from pics alone, the flat was off plan, it was not built when i bought it. Buying on line is safe if you still employ a solicitor
2. I would never purchase anything so expensive as a house without either looking at it myself or having someone familiar with houses that I trusted to check it out. There are too many ways in which you can get taken. That is the down side. I can't think of a positive side to purchasing on-line without checking out the purchase.

5. What would be cool is if there was a way to see inside the home with like a virtual camera, seeing everything in real time, then you would never even need to leave the house to buy anything lol
