cost to buy a small house or rent house near Cavite Philippines? looking to stay near Manila 4-6 months a year. Hotel is too costly and I am considering a small house or a "rent house" that has extra rooms to rent out when I am not there, which would be the rest of the year. Someone told me I could rent a house for 5000 pesos a month which is only $116. That seems way too low. They said rent a house and then add what I needed like hot water, shower, international TV stations. I'd think to add hot water and shower would require me to buy a house not rent one. What can someone can through a rental or purchase that is economy minded, but still has the things I need. Also need a place with good security, well lighted, etc. ah, the people that don't read the question. I said....someone told me 5000 a month. The question is what should I expect to pay.......?

how much to rent a nice house in the Philippines? I planned on spending around $400/mo or around 10k per year on a 3 bedroom home Then I spoke to someone who had lived there for a long time and basically responded like "what?!?" He then told me around 5k US would get you a nice house easily and would last a year, he said that was even expensive So now that leads me here. I plan on being a dive instructor and have yet to decide on where I want to specifically move. I want to move to a Christian part of the Phils and I was thinking Cebu or Puerto Galera. However the guy told me to watch out for the Muslim terrorist areas and said most of the Phils are Muslim and small sections are Christian. I think he is wrong but he's an older philippino guy, like 40, and he may be right cause he used to live there. Anyway can someone point me into an area given what I'm lookin for, and what to expect to pay for a nice house in that area? Should I buy a vehicle when I move and are they expensive? Thanks in advance

What do i need to pay attention to, when i rent a place in the Philippines? i plan to rent a house for 2 months in Davao city. However, i don't live in the Philippines right now. And i understand that this needs to be done in a safe way, as much as possible. I know it's essential to first make a clear written contract with all the important conditions...and also to first have a look at the place personally (my trustee in Davao will do that). Is there anything else i need to pay special attention to? Any recommendations (e.g. how to pay the owner; by bank/cash)? Thank you very much in advance.

I also want to stay out there for 2 years or so, but I know the visa card allows me to stay alot shorter span of time. Is there anyway to get around this?? Do I leave the phils randomly every 3 months or something and get a new visa when I reenter the phils a day or 2 later?? I am just worried about having everything set up and ready before I leave. I would like to have everything done and ready, then i get my plane ticket and head down there. I also plan on going to diving school so I am wanting to go to maybe Cebu or Puerto gallera. Thanks in advance!!!

My girlfriend and I broke up but she is still living in my mother's house in the Philippines because for one? my mom needs someone to stay and watch the house while she is in the states. My technically "ex" pays all the bills though and 3/4 of the rent. My mom pays 1/4. Problem is when this was all set up, I didn't forsee us breaking up and having there is too close for comfort. She has been having guys over there drinking and god knows what else. She even had a guy that she "likes" visit. I can't take that but my mom has no one else to stay there and my "ex" doesn't really want to leave cuz she has it good there. So, this situation works for both my mom and my "ex" but not for me! I don't know what to do! just so you know we were together 4 years, and i go back and forth to the philippines and states. I was planning to move there in January but she broke up with me. I don't want to feel used and abused anymore but I also don't want my emotions to rule my decisions. The rational solution is for her to stay there bc she wants to(why i have no idea, have her cake and eat it too prob) and my mom needs her there but it just sucks for me. I was seriously asking myself if I could just block it out of my mind that she is there, suck it up, and just cut off contact completely. Anything that has to do with the house, she can take it up with my mom. After all, this is their agreement. This situation royally sucks! How can I move on knowing she is still there?

Are leases common in the provinces of the Philippines when renting a house? I had a filipino friend of mine tell me that he would act as the middle man for me to lease a house here in the Philippines for 6 months. I asked him about a written lease / rental agreement and he told me that there is no need to have one. He said that paying the money is all I need to do the transaction. I asked him what happens when I pay the money and the owner tells me to get out of their house. He told me that would never happen. Something doesnt sound right to me. He is a friend but I am wondering why he is not taking my suggestion for a lease rental agreement seriously. Is this type of transaction common in the Philippines? I am trying to rent a 2 bedroom for 6k per month and rent it for a total of 6 months.

Can a person whose property is foreclosed and has pending court issues have it rent? I am residing in the Philippines & renting a house. I later found out after 2 or 3 months that the property I am renting has been foreclosed for 4 years already. The new owner presented to me the Title that they are the rightful owner of the house. After I checked the authenticity of the document in our City's Registry of Deeds, I started making payments to the new owner. Now, I am being sued by the former owner by not paying her rent & missing things from her stockroom (which is not really a stockroom). In our contract, it never mentioned about us being the caretaker of her things nor she left a list of inventory of her belongings. The reason why I am paying now the new owner is because that the document they presented is authentic after having it verified from the Registry of Deeds and that their lawyer sent us a letter that if we do not pay the new owner the monthly rental, we will suffer legal consequences. I need your advice. I have a hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Thanks.

Pawn Value of a House...in Metro Manila? And Terms? Guys and girls..in case you didn't notice, I'm a foreigner, Permanent Resident of the Philippines. I have been doing some legal business here, but this one has me stumped a little. This is proposed by a family friend..tell me, deal or no deal? She has a house, 4 years old, Maligaya, Novaliches...personally I don't like the area, but anyway..a 4 year old well constructed townhouse, with a shopfront, currently unoccupied. Bill of Sale says she paid 2.6M in 2005. Deal 1..she wants 1M for a year...2.5% interest only, same as a pawn. She must pay me 25k, pesos monthly for 12 months..if not I get her house. Property is to remain unoccupied during that time..me or her, cannot use it. Deal 2...she wants 1M over a 5 years period..personal financing. She wants 2% interst per month paying 20k interest+17k per month capital repayment...after 5 years she would have paid me 2.2M..if she misses 3 payments, I get her house..BUT in this case she wants to rent out the house and shop. But as for me, I thought since it's a pawn, the property should be under my control. Kindly skip the warnings about a foreigner gettting scammed, I am well aware. What do you say to the above..deal or no deal? By the way at the start of Deal 1 and Deal 2, I get a conditional Bill of Sale and the Title to the property. Sherman..in my wife's name, forgot to add. Phoenix...why in your opinion is the Bill of Sale worthless..explain that. By the way, I don't like the deal, but I'm looking at it in a way that if I actually get the property I cannot lose...but... I'm getting great adivice here for free, so that's my scam....ha ha. Chinaman..that's 2.5% per month..not per annum.
I have a delima...........................................? i got a delima here goes. my gf in philippines has been faithfull for over 5months now and she wants to see me. i am willing to buy a plane ticket to come here. but the problem is i was talked out of going there, cause i am white. and my family and sisters are nervous of me going. so i listen to their wise counsel. however i thought about inviting her to here and possibly get married within 3months. she has a sister and a brother no parents living in a rent house and we believe we are a good match. i talked to her through web cam every other night. and morning and we feel our feelings for us never has asked me one penny. i know some certain forms i am suppose to sign before she enters in the u.s. is it possible and a ok idea to have just a one way ticket? buying the ticket is not a problem right now. but i want to know the details of a one way ticket fiance deal. thanks and yes there are a lot of so called scams u have to be smart in the ones u really want to talk to i was scammed out of 20 plus 30 women before i found the right one and was ready to give up completely. and no F*cking negative comments i will remove them...

Is it wise to buy properties in Philippines when you are already a "Permanent Resident" in different country? I am a Filipina. 41 years old. Now already have a Permanent Residency in JAPAN. I do not wish to change my nationality. I plan to buy a property for investment in the Philippines. I mean a property for "lease or rental purposes" although I already have I house where I use to visit Philippines. I mean the house I have NOW....is NOT for lease/rent because I am using it when I visit Philippines. And my Brother is now living/taking care of it for me. I plan to buy ANOTHER house for "lease and rental purposes". But I am really NOT sure if I am going back to the Philippines for good. I still do not know the future. I have not decided yet. I may go back for good or I maybe not. Is it wise to have many properties in the Philippines although you are NOT sure you are going back for good? I want to know a serious opinions on this. Is it bad or NOT wise to have many properties ....I mean more than TWO properties in the Philippines...let us say a condo, beach front house, townhouse and another house and lot that you usually use ONLY when visiting the Philippines.
how much does a nice apartment cost in the philippines? I need air conditioning, two bedrooms, and a minimum of 90 square meters of living area. Preferably, it would be very near or in Davao or a similar city which has a modern infrastructure, particularly sewer and water. Being near the coast is not necessary. Actually, I would prefer inland and above sea level. I've looked on the internet and have visited several websites that feature houses and apartments/condos for rent, but am far from sure that what I've seen is representative. Having never been to the Philippines, I am pretty much lost as to the primary considerations for living accommodations there and also have no idea as to the cost real cost of electricity, cable, water, appliances, furniture, groceries, or anything else. I suppose what I really want to know is can a clean two bedroom apartment, house, or condominium with air conditioning and a fully functional kitchen in a location with modern water and sewer facilities be had for $150.00 to $180.00 USD ? My approximate monthly income will be about $850.00 and that will have to cover everything as I have no family to call on should I run short. I do have savings but the amount is modest- only a few thousand dollars. -Also- What are the very best websites to learn in depth about living in the Philippines as an expat from the United States. Thanks in advance for any replies.
Is there an apartment that a small family can rent for 15-30 days only? A family will be migrating here (LA County) from the Philippines and would need a temporary shelter until they can arrange an apartment or housing suitable or appropriate in the husband's work place.

Claim form send to us by Phoenix workforce solution(no issue date, no court seal) is it legal papers still? We are a university student from Glasgow Caledonian University, and we have our work placement here in Bradford as a part of our Nursing Programme. We rent a house which was chosen by our agency way back in the Philippines, unfortunately we are paying 1,126 pounds monthly as we are four in that house. There is no copy given to us when we sign "licence to occupy" contract individually stating a 52 weeks of stay in that flat. We ask for our copy that day but the agent from "Phoenix Workforce Solution" send me only the usual contract via email and not even scanned copy of the original paper we have signed. After 2 mos. of staying in that house, when we are 4days away because we have to attend our school classes in glasgow, the momment we arrived from glasgow and open the door we notice that all of our things have been scattered and missing, basement window was totally wrecked and 3 doors were broken, we found out we have robbed. We call 999 for the police to investigate and a total loss of 1,400 was estimated. Crime reference number was given, we phone our letting company and the agent of Phoenix "clive" and informed what happened. He send someone to cover that broken window as protection for that night and change the locks. The following days we are all upset and cannot really believe that this is happening to us, we decided to write a letter stating that we want to move to another house, its no longer safe for us and our social life, work and schooling are all affected and we are all suffering from emotional distress. But when we discussed this to him via phone "he got really mad and even shouting us and threaten us about our visas to be revoked". But we still pursue to leave that house scared that he might get "physical" against us. And now he is sending us via email such form to pay him 3k each "claim form" from Northampton County Court no seal, no issue date.
Is stealing a Title of the Lot from your own husband is a crime?Could the husband can file a case for this? My Parents are separated NOT divorced. They are both Filipinos. My Father wants to see or have the Title of the Lot but my Mother took it and is now hiding from my Father. She was later found and insist in NOT gaving the Title of the Lot to my Father. She told him that he could not have it because it is also hers because of the conjugal property. The Title reads...Mr.X owner of the lot...married to Mrs.Y. My Father who is 85 years old wants to have the Title of the Lot to transfer it to me. Because I am the one who built the house and pays the taxes due to my Father. But my Mother wants my married Brother to have it instead of me. My Brother is living in that house with my Mother that I built. Together with my brother's family. Because he could not afford to rent a house because of NO stable job. I have no proof that I built that house in court. I just send money to my brother and mother and then they built the house for me. I also send money to them for their living expenses. The Lot is in the Philippines. My Father wants to file a case in court to my Mother for stealling the Title from him. Is it possible?

i want to buy cheap beachfront property in the philippines.....? i already have a filipina wife, so legally theres no problem. she wants something in the Bicol region, but suggestions anywhere in pi are welcomed. i prefer white beaches and not crowded, thats why boracay isnt good for us - but i still want it near a town, nothing too isolated. i would like to rent it out when we are not there so possibly near a resort would be nice... oh and my budget is about $20-50k (dollars) for around 200-400 square meters, we want to design and build our house on this land, thanks! 20-50k for property only - my wife and i have a contractor that will build our house - were just looking for a location to build...
Cheap Philippines Vacation Packages? How can I find cheap rent around General Santos City? I am having trouble finding information on the cost of living in PHP and USD. I would like to know how much it costs for gym memberships, groceries, eating out, massages, taxis, cable, maid, various misc. expenses. I do not need a huge house or fancy tourist hotel. Just a small studio w/AC and a safe area with security. I forgot to mention that I am looking to stay in or around General Santos City.
How much money does an American need to bring when going to the Philippines? I just need to know how much pocket money would be wise to bring when traveling to the Philippines for about 3 to 4 weeks. This should cover lodging expenses, 3 meals a day, and money to spend on some stuff and transportation fares within a certain city. And how much does it cost to rent/board a decent but inexpensive room? (preferably apartment/boarding house) In US Dollars ($) please, if possible. But figures in Philippine Peso will do just fine also. Possible cities to stay in that i need travel budget information on are Manila, Cebu, or Davao. Is there anyone out there who can help inform me?
Questions about Renting and Bank Interest in the Philippines? 1. If you have 25000 pesos to pay for a monthly rent, can you find a good apartment/condo/attached house? Where do you recommend? And why? 2.Which bank will you recommend that offers good interest? 3. Can I open a minimum of a yearly (I intend to renew it yearly) Time Deposit in Euro and have the interest also in Euro? How much is the interest? 4. How much is the interest for Savings Account? 5. Do banks also give monthly interest for Current Accounts? TYVMIA Both answers are very helpfull. Thank you. It's difficult to choose though for the best answer. I often find myself in this situation everytime I ask a question. So I thought to throw a dice. The number that the dice will first show, 1st or 2nd is the chosen. But if I could I`ll choose both. Again, Thank you.
Italian boarder running out of money in the philippines? An Italian, old man rent my commercial space which he make into a bachelor's pad. He pretend to have a money but then in the end I realize that he don't have. Now he is giving me more problem. He would not follow my house rules and would not sign a contract If I don't translate the contract into Italian language which makes it impossible because I do not know how to speak italian and using the computer to translate one sentence is not really possible specially if your making a ligal ducument. I let him out of my house - his girlfriend sign that they will be out on a particular date. The Italian guy is complaining about the electric bill he would not accept the reading of the electric company and also the reading of the water company even if he see the metter. He also would not want to pay the damages he made on my commercial space like the hole which he use for the gas. The hole is big about 3 inches round. He painted a part of my commercial space and make something new which are not durable and good. He complain for the expensis he spend. But I lower down the rent because he said that he will renovate the place and make it beautiful because he do not have a problem with money. The Italian guy said that he will sue me for not having a lease of contract with him and that I am asking too much money (3,000.00 a month not including electric and water) and I let him out after a month of renting my commercial space. Is there really a chance for him to sue me? What is his ground? His girlfriend sign that they will be out on a particular date. He don't want to sign a contract because it is written in English. He don't want to speak in English to me he use a lot of Itallian words which I do not understand. Can I call the help of the embassy for his distubance of my business. What can I do so that this Italian guy will not do much harm to other Filipino business man. He said he earn about a hundred thousand out of his insurance and he have 3 million in the bank. But as far as I know he do not have a money because he even complain for an electric bill worth about 320 pesos for 17 days as he use; electric fun almost all day long and all night long, refredgerato, and a light that has about 20 watts and 3 other more lights. One light he often keep on along with the ref, electricfun and t.v. He complain about the water when his girl has a daughter who live with them and the family of the girl often come to the place they rented. Now they have to pay about 700 for the water for almost a month of use. Should I call the help of the embassy? I just have a feeling that this guy will exploit a lot of Filipino businenn man who earn only a little with the tax to pay and a lot more of things to pay. As far as I know he would have known the expensis he has to spend before he come in the Philippines and if he don't have a money it is better for him to stay in a charity home in their place - as far as I know. Any forigner should research what kind of life they would have. I never expect that a forigner from Europe would be financially a burden to me - a Filipina business woman trying to make a good, clean living.
Any REAL ESTATE AGENTS FROM THE PHILIPPINES? Help!? I collect 1300 dollars a month for being wounded in Iraq. I was wondering if there are any Realtors from the philippines that need some business. Im unfortunately not looking to purchase a home, but I do need some serious help finding a house within my price range. I have about 36990 Pesos i'm willing to spend each month on rent. A man told me once that he lived off of 38000 pesos a month and that included his maid, driver, groceries and utillities. I know there are people out there that can find me a deal like that, and I know there is a realtor that needs some business. If you can find me a place like I explained, I might be able to line up some more work for you. I know a lot of people interested in living in souteast asia and i'm sure the philippines would work just fine for them, so if you are an honest, hard working realtor interested in making some money get back to me. Thanks
Who marries a Filipina? Ok, I'm asking this not because I met or am looking for a mail order bride, but because I started talking to a girl a while back, online of course, that just happened to be from the Philippines. Honestly, I never imagined myself looking into these kinds of things. When we started talking, I wasn't even looking for a girl friend from anywhere. I have never had a problem getting a girl of the domestic variety either. It just started with the fact that this girl and I communicate so well it's dumbfounding. So to avoid beating around the bush, I found an awesome girl that right now, I'm entertaining the idea of having as a partner in my life. She just happens to be on the other side of the world, but it seems totally worth it to me to, proverbially, go and get her. I know all the legal technicalities behind all of that, that's not what I'm asking about. So here I am, stateside, male, in my early 20's. I'm not super rich, I have a little credit, a little debt. When it comes to numbers, I'm painfully in the middle. There is all the back ground info. Here is my question. Who marries a Filipina? I spent the last couple days actually doing some serious research on the idea and found various forums and books and things like that, and I have this stereotype in my mind of the 40 year old white guy, that works for some computer oriented company with no social skills marrying a little submissive, uneducated Filipina who just wants to be rescued from poverty and become a nurse. Is that stereotype there for a reason? Am I just getting myself in over my head when it comes to the financial burden of this? I don't mind the money spending part. When it comes right down to it, do I have to be super successful to pull it off? Am I being naive? Because I'm not that guy. I have a good life. I'm marginally successful. I rent a nice house, play in a band, have a good social life. I just want to know if I should put this idea behind me, or if you think I should just go for it. So yes, this is all about opinion and trying to look at my situation objectively. Thank you, Thoth. PS: Two quick side notes. Her English is better than most of the people I have met here or went to school with here, and I'm not the type to take the marriage thing lightly. I've had my share of experiences, and learned from those around me when it comes to these things, so I approach the topic as maturely and sensibly as possible. I've been completely honest about my standings. We have talked about things like that in casual conversation. The last thing I would want to do is make myself look like something I'm not. I felt a lot better about it until I started reading things. lolz. Now I'm paranoid. I am with people a little bit in general. She has never even talked about marriage. I've never brought it up yet either. She has never asked for help. As things appear, she seems to be a genuinely awesome human being. Mostly I haven't brought it up, though, because I do realize the gravity of something like marriage. It's still gestating in my mind. Second response. I actually don't have a means of communicating with my parents. I haven't talked to them since my early teens. Also, she isn't in need of being rescued. She's kind of in the same boat I'm in. Tourist visas for Filipinos are like pulling hens teeth. They just don't give them out. Also, I do know a bit about Filipino culture. I'm not claiming to be an expert, but by best friend and his family (friend of 16 years) were from the Philippines. A little rubbed off over time.
Is there a storage facility in the Philippines for your stuff? In America, when you're moving out or you don't have storage for your things, you can rent these warehouse like rooms where you can safely keep your stuff or just keep your stuff. I need to move out of our house but I haven't found a bigger place yet so all my stuff wouldn't fit. I need a place where I can store most of my stuff like boxes of books, extra clothes, some appliances and other things that wouldn't fit into the place I am moving out for now. Please tell me of these places, probably better if there's one within Makati area...if not then in the Metro Manila, Philippines. Thanks!
Should I write this part in my essay? This is my college admission essay about what I expect from diversity: Imagine a glass of water only half-filled. Would you say it is half-empty or half-full? Some people will say the former and others, the latter. Engineers will say the cup is two sizes larger than necessary, but poets will ignore it and see only an “ocean.” Just as these opinions may vary, most issues can be viewed from completely different angles. This is the beauty of diversity: the variety of perspectives. I view the glass of water as a blessing. Regardless of the amount, having water is better than having nothing it all. This attitude applies to everything I have: my family, my house, and even the clothes I have on my back. The first few years of my life were spent in a much poorer financial state than I am in today. My family did not even own a house; we had to rent one or stay with my grandparents. Life was hard in the Philippines, but by coming to America, my family was able to live prosperously and comfortably. Just as my perspective was influenced by my experiences, other people will view the cup depending on theirs. What I enjoy in differing opinions is the chance to be enlightened by them. There is not always a right answer for every situation. Of course, two plus two will always equal four, but which do you believe occurred: evolution or creation? Your answer will depend on your principles. By keeping an open mind, I want to understand other people's opinions and further develop my own. Also, I learn how to accept people with opposing views so I can coexist with them. Whether the glass is half-empty, half-full, or neither is an open ended question; and so, the mind should be open to the possibilities. ----------------------------------- Now this is how my mom wants me to write the concluding paragraph(re-worded by me of course) Being exposed to diversity helps me develop an open mind. It provides me an opportunity to work through diversity and be adaptable. I learn to work with people from different background, culture and age-group which I know will be valuable when I leave the academe and walk out to the real world. I know that the workforce in America is as diversed as it could be and my experience is one great tool that will prove to be very useful. it's just that it sounds so much like sucking up and out of character
I want to get out of the US for a month, where can I go that is CHEAP?? Im joining the Marines shortly, and I want to get away for a few weeks without spending much money at all. If I could live in a forest safely I would do that, but I dont know anywhere, etc. I really don't want to spend much money at all since I am broke. But I haven't left my house for like the past year and havent hung out with anyone either. Old friends became losers, fakes, and starting doing hard drugs....I didnt want to search in a suburb for friends since thats hard, and I have just....well it doesn't matter. But I need to get out, and I want to do this before I leave for the Marines. Can I go to the Philippines?? How can I rent for cheap and only 3-4 weeks?? Any help is appreciated.
Ugh... Any faster way to get them over here? Ok. I'm 23 and I've been on my own since 17 (Senior in High School). My parents, though U.S. Citizens, live in the Philippines with my baby sister (6). They sold one of two houses in Hawaii to move there and pay off all there debts but they didn't expect the little one (my mom was 41, my dad 51) so they're finances are all out of whack. They thought they could live off the rent of their other house but well, they couldn't. And now, it's starting to fall apart and no one's renting it and they need to cough up money for repairs. Well, my brother (26) and I have been trying to get them over here-- but we're the kids and we are both broke as hell, with debt already (had to buy food somehow) and we're sending them $400 before the new year but now our parents tell me that they need us to help with the taxes for their rental property as well as my sisters passport (renewal). It makes my husband sick and he really doesn't like them because they're "doing" this to me, but they are my ... parents and I will do whatever... WHATEVER I can to get them over here. He just doesn't understand what a third world country is like. But he apologized for being so harsh on them... and I was like-- I don't care-- I NEED A SOLUTION! I need money. I need someone to help. Anyone have any ideas? I'm go through so many-- I just need to here options and suggestions.... thanks. The problem is them being in a foreign country. They can't just up and move--- it DOESN'T work that way. The town they live in is a quarter homeless people. You know those old infomercials with the old guy who says "help out Maria, a six year old"... "she needs money for clothes and school". Did you notice the background? That's what it's like. They don't have money. There isn't a company over there like wal-mart that they can work for. It's all farms-- farms that have been FLATTENED by three super typhoons in the past year. It is not America over there. There isn't anyone who would remotely have the money to BUY the property they live on. To Sammy: That's what I'm trying to do... Get them over here. But they need passports, plane tickets, money to just get to the airport (they live 12 hours from Manila). That's at least $2000. They're travelling from HALF-WAY around the world. I need to get the $2000, to get them a place to live here till they can get on their feet. S**t, I'm not even on my feet....
Torn, what should I do. I am stuck in the middle.? Here's the thing..I am going back to my country (Philippines) next month. After being gone for almost ten years, I decided to visit my family. All of them are still there except for one sister. I have 6 sisters and 4 brothers so 8 siblings are still there including my parents. So pretty much everyone will be there when I get back. My dad and my brother are making sure that everyone will come to town to see me and spend time with me. Here's a thing, I want to stay with my aunt while over there. The reason for that is so that I don't need to spend money on a hotel. I can't stay with my parent's house. They live in the mountain far away and remote. I have a 19 months old son. I want to be close to the city and this is where my aunt lives. She has a nicer, safer place. I don't know of any place to stay that would be ideal for my situation (with 19 month old baby) aside from my aunt. My brothers and sisters all live in an areas that is not doable. Not as sanitized and mosquitos are all over. My two options are: stay with my aunt and it's free OR rent a hotel/pension house to stay for the entire month. This will cost me money. My dad HAVE NEVER gotten along with my aunt and uncle. My uncled died and my dad barely said anything to him. My dad still have hurt feelings towards my aunt and uncle. Loooonnng story to this. Bottom line, he made it clear that he is not going to step A FOOT if I stay at my aunt's house. What should I do? Should I rent a hotel for a month so that my siblings and my dad will feel comfortable visiting me anytime and perhaps spend a night with me from time to time. *Some* of my siblings have no problems going to my aunt's house but my dad do. My dad is also telling me that he would rather have "just us" (him and my siblings and the family from our side) instead of having my aunt's family to deal with or stuff if I stay at my her house. I need help on making this decision. I was thinking maybe I could just leave most of my stuff at my aunt and spend a night there from time to time but a place for everyone to go if they want to see me is a must since they are not comfortable going to my aunt. Should I get a other place to make dad happy or should I stick to my plan which is better for my situation and my son. I just don't like the idea of staying somewhere else. I grew up in my aunt's house when I was a kid and I like it there and familiar with it. WHAT TO DO? I talked to my dad. This situation is hopeless. This had been going on for YEARS...20 or so. Heck, even when my uncle died, my dad was hardly there. I don't think I can change the situation now. If the death of my uncle did not patch anything and did not give my dad a change of heart, I doubt that I'll be able to play as a mediator for them. I could stay with my aunt but my dad will have hurt feelings. I might just do the previous advise which is split the time. The thing is, I am afraid that my dad would want to spend the entire time with me while there since I haven't seen him in 10 years. My siblings will for sure be there pretty much the whole time. Ugh! I hate the drama.
Planning one month in philippines and want to rent a house in a nice beach area; How should I do it? I want to spend next June or July in the Philippines, hopefully diving and windsurfing as well as partying at night. I want to rent out a house, close to a nice beach. I was thinking boracay, but not too sure what else is out there. I went to Cebu City last year, and absolutely loved it. I would like to be in an area that is more metropolitan, but also has a nice beach to spend the days on. Where would be the best place to go?
Rent or Buy a House in Philippines...or Thailand? I understand that in both Philippines & Thailand will not allow me to own land, only own the house which is fine....BUT.... then there is property tax to take into consideration. Philippines: (GOOD POINTS) 1. FOOD would be cheapest in 2. Renting/Buying PROPERTY would also be lowest. Philippines: (BAD POINTS) 1. Property Tax (OWNING A HOUSE) I believe what I read said that property tax is based on the value of your home, and you are taxed annually. So with a house worth about $100,000usd, expect to pay 25% of that amount per year? $25,000usd/year??? (CRAZY!) Bottom line is If I choose to go to the PH I will have to consider pretty much renting If I dont want to pay property tax that is? Or if im mistaken how much is it really? Thailand would be the same as Philippines except that its about (40-50% more expensive to live there) than PH. Upside to owning property is that they base it on your annual income? (property tax is 12.5%) Many ppl say renting is the way to go rather than to buy a house, but then I piss away my money in away by renting because in the end I have no assets. So...do I give up my dream of owning a house? Because I cant fathom paying more than $2000/year in property taxes. Thats just like renting in a way..only this way you get to say you own it...and you can make any types of changes you want. So if I wanna own a house and pay the least amount of property tax Thailand is the way to go? If I want to rent a house Philippines? What do you think? Am I mistaken on the % of taxes? Advice? Should I choose someplace else entirely? I am absolutely though moving to someplace in asia wherever it may be. I am certain property tax isnt that high in PH, I mean here in the states you only pay like $2,000/year or more. Why is it so high in some of these places? I figure I only want/need the house for 20 years or a bit more. What about leasing a house, think that would be a better decision?

Why do the uppor storeys of half-timbered houses overhang? In half-timbered houses, the second storey overhangs the first, and if there's a third, that often overhangs too. I've seen this not only in western Europe, but in places as far apart as Turkey and the Philippines. Why were they built like that? Was it to save ground rent? Or was it something to do with the stability of the upper floors? Or what?
what can i do to stop him from running over my cats!? I like to take care of cats, especially stray kittens whom i pick up from the streets so that they won't dies. but my neighbor who parks on our garage because we rent the house owned by his relative, has shown irresponsibility when it comes to my cats. He leaves in and out, without even checking if some of my cats are under his car. My kitten just died last week, squashed helplessly, and just now, another of my kittens died again. All of these could have been easily avoided if he just took a little moment to check underneath his car before speeding in and out of our garage. 4 of my cats have already died. I feel that he doesn't care at all, even if i do tell him to be more considerate (which im planning to do once he comes back home). I don't want to see my cats die one by one. It's too cruel. It kills me that all the pain that i have gone through to rescue homeless kittens have been futile. .I don't think he's going to believe me. What action can i take? Im in the Philippines. I do want to keep them indoors, but the problem is, i already have four grownup cats inside, all of them stray kittens i rescued. My mom doesn't want me to keep any pets inside the house anymore, even if i cry in front of her. I want to have my kittens adopted, rather than die.But the problem is, i don't know anyone who wants to. Sometimes I think that stopping rescuing kittens would be the best solution. But if you see a barely 2 month old kitten , abandoned, crying for help under the rain, in some dirty canal, lost in a street where you know he can be hit almost in an instant by a car, what would you do? What else could i do?
I have a home valued at 500000. I have 160000 left on my principle. Should I pay it off? or Invest? I'm 32 years old with 793 Credit Rating.. I'm renting out my home for 2800 bucks.. which is 1000 above the mortgage. Should I put the 2800 I earn on the rent towards the principal? so my total mortgage payment is $4600? If I did, I would pay off my house by August 2012. I'm living in the Philippines right now with only $1700mo comfortably. What should I do with my extra money??? Pay off my house first? then Invest like a madman?? The reason I could pay an additional 2800 on top of my 1800 mortgage payment is because.. my house payment was $1800 and now that I'm renting it out for $2800 starting these past 3 months.. I could put that on top of my original Mortgage payment totaling $4600.. Right?? I'm not using the income from my rent because I'm on a fixed income right now at $3500 a month and all I need is $1700 in the Philippines so that's more than enough for me here. My interest rate is fixed at 7.25 percent I do not have pre-payment penalty.

We have 3 kids, my wife & I are planning to go back to the Philippines to study FULLTIME, is this a good idea? WE HAVE 3 KIDS, MY WIFE & I (BOTH FILIPINOS) ARE PLANNING 2 GO BACK 2 THE PHILIPPINES 2 STUDY (FULLTIME), IS THIS A GOOD IDEA? MY WIFE WILL BE TAKING NURSING COURSE & I MIGHT TAKE THE SAME COURSE. I AM UNDECIDED, MAY BE PHYSICAL THERAPY 4 ME. WE ARE NOT PLANNING 2 WORK AT ALL! WE WILL BE USING OUR LIFE SAVINGS 2 SUPPORT ALL OF US GOING 2 SCHOOL. 2 COLLEGE, 1 HIGH SCHOOL & 2 ELEMENTARY = $200K +/- $50K (=Php 12.5 MIL) FOR 3 TO 5 YEARS! NONE OF OUR KIDS SPEAKS (TAGALOG). CAN SOMEONE RECOMMEND A CATHOLIC/EXCLUSSIVE PRIVATE SCHOOL? WE PREFFER O.B. MONTESSORI. WERE CHOOSING BETWEEN QUEZON CITY, SAN JUAN, PARANAQUE & LAS PINAS 2 STAY. THE AVERAGE 3 - 4 & MAY BE UP TO 5 BEDRMS HOUSE RENTS 4 ABOUT ($1000=Php 45k) PER MONTH ( TIMES 2 TO 4 YRS STAY) CAN SOMEONE RECOMMEND 2 BUY OR RENT? THEN WE WILL HEAD BACK HERE (USA) 2 WORK AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN! AND SEND OUR KIDS 2 COLLEGE. IF MY WIFE TRIES 2 GO 2 SCHOOL HERE - THERE IS A 2 YRS WAITING PERIOD 2 GET INTO THE PROGRAME & I WILL BE DEAD BY THEN! ALL MY KIDS R VERY EXCITED 2 RE-LOCATE (NOT UPROOTED) SPECIALLY MY OLDEST 12 Y.O. MY OTHER KIDS R 7 Y.O. & 4 Y.O. IT SHOULD NOT AFFECT THEM TOO MUCH, HOPE NOT-PRAYING! IT MAY BE A DIFFERENT CULTURE BUT IT IS A GREAT CULTURE, DON’T U AGREE? MY WIFE A& I A BOTH GLAD WE R GIVEN THIS CHANCE 2 RAISE OUR 3 KIDS 2 THE PHILIPPINE CULTURE. IT MAY NOT BE THE BEST CULTURE BUT I KNOW IT IS BETTER THAN WHAT WE ARE CURRENTLY EXPOSE 2. IT IS ACULTURE WHERE RESPECT 2 OTHERS=ELDERS ARE STILL VERY MUCH INTACT! THEY ALL WANT 2 SPEND TIME W/THEIR GRANDPARENTS (MY WIFE'S FOLKS). @ THE SAME TIME, MY WIFE CAN ALSO SPEND TIME W/ AGING PARENTS, SHE HAVE BEEN AWAY 4 ABOUT 17 YRS NOW =NOT CONSECUTIVELY! WE NEED 2 SELL OUR HOUSE=$200K PROFIT = WE CALL IT GODS GIFT! IN ORDER 2 ACCOMPLISH THIS NEW VENTURE. IF WE DONT DO THIS NOW (FINISH COLLEGE) WHILE WE R STILL YOUNG (WE 40's) WE WONT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY 2 SEND OUR KIDS 2 GOOD COLLEGES! WE R ALSO MAKING SURE THE KIDS GETS THE HIGHEST EDUCATION OUR MONEY CAN BUY. WE HEARED O.B. MONTESSORI AN EXCLUSIVE/PRIVATE CATHOLIC SCHOOL IS THE BEST IN THE AREA WE ARE HIGHLY CONSIDERING (LAS PINAS CITY). THE R-O-I SHOULD BE GOOD! AFTER ALL OUR KIDS (INCL. OURS) EDUCATION IS PRICELESS. I KNOW A LOT OF WORKING PARENTS HAVE NO PROBLEM MANAGING BOTH WORK & FAMILY, BUT 2 ADD SCHOOL IN THE EQUATION IS ANOTHER THING 2 BE METICULOUSLY CONSIDER. EITHER MY WIFE OR I DONT WANT 2 BE AWAY FROM THE KIDS WHILE STUDYING ABROAD. I AM VERY MUCH HANDS-ON FATHER. EVERY FAMILY SITUATIONS IS DIFFERENT! OUR FAMILY IS DEFINETELY DIFFERENT. OUR KIDS ARE VERY-VERY CLOSE 2 US & WE DONT WANT ANY OF US NOT 2 BE AVAILABLE WHEN THEY NEED US. BEING A PARENT IS VERY DEMANDING, SPECIALY W/ 3 BEAUTIFUL KIDS!

Because it's that first system, that affective, intuitive one, that's at play. P: It's the benefit without the burden. He can distance himself after the fact. The RNC has said that they're not going to officially make attacks on race and gender, but you can have other groups raise these concerns and it works to McCain's advantage. The other question here is how Obama and Clinton may tear themselves apart heading into the convention and the general election by raising all these questions about each other. They're provoking these implicit biases among the general electorate as we speak--and the Republican Party may not have to do much next fall. One top white house aide linked in above scandal was killed, or he disappeared by death or in a broader conspiracy he was removed from scene of investigations of said scandal many members of we the people lost millions in the deceiving operation of whitewater.reinvestigation is demanded to all law enforcement authorities of usa or stat of arkansas. only one thing i found of the investigatioins. illfamed hillary has been trying nowto steal fame among people by intending to be u s democrat president by causing public sentiment thatshe was woman and a woman presidentshoule b elected. The problem with hillary is she is doubtful, deficient in honesty and she is no proven leader to take as big responsibility of us president. a diffent story is for inability of barrak hussain obama. He is half black no doubt.. he is an opportunist without any question. he changed his religious faith from islam to christianity for privilege to hiself. He changed his nam, partly He changed his economic status by making ponzi crime deal of buying reidential hom with sweet_heart deal with a would be felon as alleged, now in jail and 199% sure he did not pay i r s taxes from illegal bargain for turning himself to be millionaire. Now he is trying to prove that he was leader likejfk or martin luther king jr . He is nothing but oratory magician He is a junk_patrio of usa. He needed clean up his face to show himself clearly to we the people. barrack hussain obama did hear sermon from rev wright which was apparently anti american_terrorist,s voice in usa. as religious leader wright could utter words against some oppressions of black community in usa. his talk was immune under freedom of expression and especillyu wright spoke in court of presumed god christ. But obama's fke renouncement of his 20 years of close relationship with rev right make obama a very devious man as he attended sermons , say , without feeling goo or bad about it whether patriotic or anti american. dump hillary or obama, white majority in usa , yu as a group in human civilization have been excellent selector or a leader like washington, lincoln, roosevelt of reagan, w , then why u sould pick up a counterfeit leader, who be a woman like hillary or black like obama. U could draft a better black person or a better woman to beyour leader if u find it harder to find an optimally good and talented patriot for the job of u s president . look around u may find a true leader for u. from 1. 20. 2009. Do you think this internet cafe would be a good investment? Please give comments and suggestions. Thanks.? My father and I decided to start a internet cafe. So, we will buy a more or less 150 square meter house and lot and we will start with 15 unit PCs. We will also add a billiard table and also a coffee shop that serves finger foods, sandwiches, juice and maybe some beer(or no beer)..... inside the 150 square meter house and lot. The house and lot is located inside a subdivision in which there are no internet cafes nearby. The nearest internet cafe from the sbdivision is far and has few and old PC units. We will buy all LCDs and maybe 3 Dual Core PCs, Intel Pentium 4 processor PCs, AMD processor PCs with video cards that reach 128mb and up. It will offer typing jobs, photo editing, scanning, Video Editing, etc... So, is this a good plan? Do you think it will be successful? If successful, we plan to again invest in another business here in the Philippines. My dad said that it is an advantage compared to reniting in the mall because all profits are ours and we don't pay for rent. The place isn't as modern as the US. Libraries don't offer free internet here. Oh, and, there are no internet cafes in sight within a big radius from the site where our internet cafe will be built.
Why do Democrat Tactics Work? BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Ron in Houston, thanks for calling. You're next on the EIB Network, sir. Hello. CALLER: Mega dittos, mighty one. The reason I called, this has been a frustration for about the last three months right now. How long is everybody going to forget how many times the Democrats have tried to give away everything this country's done? I'm to the point now, I'll put up the money to basically put most of the Democratic Party on Ritalin because they're becoming an out-of-control reality program. In fact, they may be the basis for the original reality programs out there. Can you explain to me how they keep getting away with the junk they're putting out there and they do it over and over and over again. I watched it during Reagan, and when the huge threat of the Soviet Union was out there. The Soviet Union was kind of a rusty bucket ready to fall over, but until the day it happened, Reagan was looked at as a fool. I'm not particularly a big fan of George Bush, but George Bush can get the job done. Let him be president. I'm sorry. I want to just scream right now. RUSH: Wait. If I understood everything you're saying, and your call is a little distorted, you're wondering how in the world people keep falling for the same Democrat trick? CALLER: It's the same thing over and over and over again. I'm an ex-Navy officer. I spent a lot of time out on US aircraft carriers. I spent a lot of time watching situations and I'm sitting there watching what's going on and I'm watching what the media is spitting back out in the States, and there's no correlation. RUSH: Well, I explained this. Look, there's so many factors in this answer. In the first place, public education system. Young skulls full of mush have grown up not learning about history. They've grown up being told that Bill Clinton was a great president, and that Abe Lincoln is worth one paragraph. They've, in many cases, grown up and been told that the white settlers of this country, the original settlers were racists, sexists, bigots, homophobes. They've been inculcated with conflict resolution that tells them that we're the problem and we have to cave and give up. We also have a bunch of people here in a nation of prosperity and vast affluence who don't have to pay attention to these uncomfortable thing if they don't want to. They don't have to, quote, "sacrifice," as such when the Democrats and the media in concert convince them there's no problem. It's something they'd like to hear, and so they believe it. BREAK TRANSCRIPT I just had a conversation with our official call screener today, Bo Snerdley, in his office. He says people on the phones are fit to be tied, particularly at Nancy Pelosi. They're throwing the word "traitor" around all over the place. It leads me to try to explain in a little bit more depth an answer to a question we got from a caller near the end of the last hour. He was beside himself, this former Navy man, and his perception is the American people buy everything the Democrats say, and he doesn't understand it. After they said Reagan was the biggest problem facing the free world, Reagan dispatched the Soviet Union. His point was that there are so many instances where you can look, historically, and find that liberal Democrats are wrong in what they claim, not just in foreign policy, but their whole social safety net program has been a disaster, and why people don't see this, and it's very frustrating thing to him. He wanted to know why I thought that was the case, and I had a minute and a half to give an answer. For a minute and a half, it was a brilliant answer. A better answer than anybody else could utter in a minute and a half. That's because I'm a highly trained broadcast specialist who understands the nature of brevity as the soul of wit. But let me expand on this, because it is a frustrating thing, and I feel it sometimes, too, even in the midst of my optimism. Remember, I have said that during all of this the Democrats are sowing their seeds for a massive landslide defeat. There is history for that, too. There is plenty of history that the American people don't buy what the Democrats sell. The reason so many of you think that most Americans are is because of the Drive-By Media. Now, the Drive-By Media no longer has its monopoly but it's still very powerful and it's a one-note samba. It is pro-Democrat. It is pro-liberal. It is anti-Bush. It is anti-Republican, and it is relentless, and I want to remind you of something else. Everybody knows that the three nightly newscasts on the major three networks are not as large, singularly, as they used to be in terms of audience. Combined, they still reach about 30 million people a night, whereas Cronkite used to do that all by himself. There is a new media, and there's an alternative, and it's growing. It's burgeoning, and it's creating problems for the liberal Democrats, although those problems are not often recounted in their house organs, such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Drive-By television networks, the cable networks. So you're looking for validation that they are weakening, and you don't see it because what you watch on television, 90%, portrays the Democrats as omnipotent and powerful, all over the place, gaining strength, the American people love and support them, and that impression has to be considered somewhat valid, what with the election results of last November. At the same time, I don't think it's as pervasive as it used to be. But let's talk about the people that watch the nightly newscasts for one second. Many of you in this audience are multitaskers and you access a whole lot of different sources of media. You listen to this program, and you go on the Internet. You watch some cable news. You're all over the place. You read various different things. You would be surprised at the number of Americans whose only source of news is the nightly newscasts. Now, they're primarily elderly, upper middle-age and beyond. You can see that by looking at the commercials -- and I don't mean this to sound funny, even though it is. But you're watching a newscast and the commercials are burial plots here and Preparation H over there and heart medicine here and Lipitor over there. When basically 80% of the commercials are medicines to sustain your life for another five years, you know who the audience is, and that's habitual. They have not transformed into the new media. They are out there. These are people, too, that have landline telephones. These are people that have not moved into cell phones and the Internet, and guess who it is that pollsters call? Pollsters have a tough time getting hold of people with cell phones, and they're having a tougher and tougher time getting hold of people that use landline phones. But this crowd that we're talking about does; they still do. This generational shift has not been completed yet, and the people that produce these nightly newscasts are well aware of this, and they're always making efforts here to try to lower their demographics. But they've got a problem, because their newscasts happen at the end of the day when a lot of people already know what they're going to see when they turn on the nightly news. But those who watch it -- and there's 30 million of them every night, averaged, if you combine all three -- it's their first taste of the day, and they believe it. It's hook, line, and sinker. It's the Bible to them, and that's it. So there's a large chunk of it, and then you have, sadly, ladies and gentlemen, a lot of people who are just sponges, and they access the Drive-By Media, and they just believe it. It carries with it this note of authority. You know from your own experience growing up: If you read it in the paper, it was true. It's just like law enforcement never, ever falsely charges people. Law enforcement never screws up. If they say somebody did it, you think they did it. That's just human nature. I'm not even talking politics here. There's certain institutions in this country that have always enjoyed a tremendous amount of credibility and respect and very few people have ever questioned it, and the Drive-By Media is one of those. That's really the root of the question. How in the world can people continue to believe this stuff, not just the media, but how can they believe the Democrats when time and time again everything the Democrats say turns out to be not true? Here's a Navy man calling. "How can it be that people are not outraged over Pelosi? How can it be that they're not outraged over the fact that the Democrats are trying to secure the defeat and un-fund, de-fund the United States Military?" Why are there not massive protests in the street of anger and outrage over this? Well, there are answers to this, and they're traditional. Most of the people that would do those kind of protests don't ever protest. The protesters are the malcontent leftists who make it their job. They go out and they secure rent-a-mobs and they try to create chaos and tumult and this is what the media is doing, and the Democrats, they don't want you happy. They don't want you content, not with a Republican in the White House, and certainly not with a Republican they think is illegitimate, and certainly not when the Republicans run the House and Senate or ran the House and Senate. They don't want you happy. And then you've gotta factor in human nature. Sad to say, it's much easier to be a pessimist than it is to be an optimist. It's much easier to be doom and gloom. It's much easier to think the worst is going to happen than to believe the best will happen, and most people's experiences in their lives are that excrement happens, and good things are rare and they're unique, and that's why they're rare and unique, because they don't happen that much. So you factor all of these things together. You know, why is it is that Nancy Pelosi is not the equivalent of Jane Fonda, for crying out loud? She's trying to undermine her own country for her own self-interests and the interests of her party. I know it's frustrating to watch this stuff and think that most of your fellow citizens are just a bunch of blithering idiot sponges soaking it all up. I don't think it's as bad as you think, but it is a problem. There are a lot of people who are not thinkers. There are a lot of people who are not curious. There are a lot of people who want to be mired in misery or doom and gloom. It's a natural mind-set, and it's fed to them each and every day. But, as I say, if you go back and look at the number of things, historically, the Democrats don't win every election, and everything that you think is going to happen doesn't in regards to their prominence and victory. I'm telling you, I know some of you just think I'm whistling Dixie here, but far more people in this country than you might believe or you might be aware of, are watching what's happening and are just as outraged as you are, and when it comes time for them to express themselves, they will do so, and the Democrats are cruising for a major humiliation again. I don't know how soon. It may not be 2008, it may be 2010 or 2012. I'm talking about electorally, but it is going to happen. They're reconstructing the exact circumstances they created post-Vietnam going into Watergate and that they think led them to the Promised Land. Of course they lost in a 49-state landslide with George McGovern as their nominee. Guess who Democrats are talking to about advising them for their future? They're out there having conferences with George McGovern. They have a perverted sense of their own success. When it's defined and when it happens, or how it's defined and when it has happened, this is something that's just going to take time to play out. The tough thing for those of you who are affected by this, is you never, ever see this even when they do lose. Even when they're shellacked, you don't see humiliation or embarrassment in the Drive-By Media. The minute they lose, they ratchet it up again. "Okay, what are the Democrats going to have to do to win?" There is never credit for Reagan, never credit for Bush, never credit for victorious Republicans. They always slough it off to, "Well, again, the right-wing Christian hayseeds, you know? They came through. Democrats failed to," blah, blah, some other thing. Victory is never legitimate. It's because of some mistake Democrats made, and they start out trying to correct the mistakes and the media helps them out with this. It's a one-note samba for the first time in the Drive-By Media. But it's not as one sided and had as bad in terms of the perception of the majority of the American people as you believe, as you might think. Listen to the number of people who call here asking this question. You are not just lone voices appearing on this program. There are countless others, thousands, hundreds of thousands who are sitting out there and throwing things on the radio going, "Yeah! Yeah! Say it again! Say it louder!" They're just as irritated as you are. They don't have an outlet, and they're not interviewed by the Drive-By Media and so forth. News is a product like any other product that's marketed and packaged and put on the grocery shelves or any other store shelf, for sale. I don't care how lofty they think their position is because it's constitutionally protected. I don't care about any of that. These people put together an agenda. There are people (they're working right now) putting together these newscasts this afternoon and tonight, and don't believe that they're not putting these things together with their own agendas and their own desires and what they think will look good, what they think will get ratings in some cases. But for the first the most part, it's not about objectivity or reporting real news or anything of the sort. Their worldview is what it is, and things that don't fit in their worldview they don't even see. So it's buck-up time. (sigh) I hate to being an I told you so, but I warned everybody back in October, this was the kind of thing you're going to have to put up with if the Republicans lose the election. It's bad enough when they win, the Democrats are relentless -- and the Drive-Bys. But now they won, and, of course, they're puffing their chests out and they're beating their chests like King Kong, Tarzan, Mighty Joe Young, whatever you want, and they're just feeling their oats right now, and it's that pompous arrogance and condescension that's also offensive in the way they go about things. But you gotta have faith, folks. The Democrats have not totally triumphed, and they never will totally triumph. There are too many of you who care too much, who will stop it. One other factor -- and I've mentioned this before, too. Particularly when it comes to the war on terror, war in Iraq, the Drive-Bys have done one hell of a job of convincing enough Americans that there's no threat. In fact, not only is there no threat, there wouldn't be a threat at all if we weren't attacking Muslims, if Bush weren't in the White House. 9/11? Why, it was just a mere episode, and most people don't want to remember it. Most people don't want to be reminded of it. They don't want to think that they're going to be, their whole lives, constantly on a vigil protecting themselves and waiting for the next attack. That's not what being an American is. Being an American is to be insulated from the stuff that happens in the Middle East, insulated from the stuff that happens in the Third World, insulated from the stuff that happens in places like Afghanistan and what's going on in the Philippines now, and in some of Indonesia. That's not what being an American is. Being an American is about having as carefree a life as possible with the normal trials and tribulations, but it does not include getting up every day and worrying to death over whether another couple jets are going to go into another couple buildings and another 3,000 people be incinerated. If anybody comes along and convince the American people they don't have to worry about that, then they'll gladly take the bait -- and, voila! It is happening, and because of our affluence and prosperity, people are able to go live their lives however they choose and pay scant or no attention to this whatsoever, and then, some of these people, after deciding that they don't want to pay any attention to this and that they don't want to live their lives under constant fear, constant threat that this could happen again, they don't want to be vigilant about this, all it takes to add to that is everyday a pummeling of the president and the whole thing about the war on terror and how we're creating circumstances. Now the Iranians are doing what they're doing because of us. They were peace-loving people before we came along! The Iraqis had been better off with Saddam Hussein. So you couple all of that natural mind-set of what it is to be an American or what it has been to be an American, with a desire for that to continue, and then you portray the "threat" to being an American as living in the embodiment of George W. Bush. Well, you can see how some people would buy into that, because everybody wants to blame somebody other than themselves. You might say, "Well, why don't they blame the Democrats?" Because nowhere in the media are the Democrats being blamed, other than here. We're not insignificant. We're not small by any stretch. I'll tell you, Fox News is what it is, but it's a speck compared to the three networks, all the rest of the Drive-Bys and the magazines and the newspapers and so forth and so on. There are reasons for this. There are explanations for it. Solutions? Well, in my case I just rely on the ultimate judgment and decency of a majority of the American people, the vast amount of times, to prevail, and I still believe that.
My wifes brother sill lives with me!? Well my wife offered her brother to stay with his family (family with 6 children) to stay in our house for about 2 months after coming from the philippines. They came about January 2006 and... it is the end of November. Her sister FINALLY started her nursing job and her husband does not want to have a job. I don't know what to do with them. They still do not have enough money to be on their own. They also have no idea what they will do after they leave us. What also makes me pretty angry is that they bought a brand new laptop... i didn't check it out but it had VIAO on the top. Even now they still do not pay rent to us. It kinda gets on my nerves to know that they have been free loading electricity, internet, food, and heat. ETC. Also my wife is getting mad because her parents are paying for anything they need. Education, gas ( my wifes parents bought them a car), food. Errg i don't know what to do. Give them their own house to live in. I don't know if u got any tips please give some
