It was advertised at $1200 and I offered $1100 (I am expecting a counter-offer around $1150 or so, which I would take). I want to rent a house or good apartment in Las Vegas. Would foreclosed, empty properties be good prospects? I am having a difficult time finding something I can afford that is nice. I understand that in Las Vegas there are record numbers of homes and apartments that have been foreclosed on and are empty. I am thinking that whoever actually owns the property would really like to bring in some rent and, even more, want someone living in the property for security and maintenance. Maybe the rent would even be nominal if I offered my services to keep the place in great shape in exchange for a two year lease. What do you think? In Nevada, does a landlord have to have utilities on (power, water) to show a house for rent? I am looking at renting a house in Las Vegas but the electricity and water are both off; limiting my ability to fully check out the house. Rent to own homes in Las Vegas? We are looking for a house here in Las Vegas. Something closer to my husbands job. He is working out in Summerlin so we wanted something in that area. I found a website called renttown1.com that has home rent to own with no credit check. They require $5000 to $10,000 down, which is fine. But they don't have many homes right now. Does anyone know of any other websites or companies that have those same a similar guidelines and requirements? We don't really want our credit ran because it sucks to have so many inquiries from banks and putting 5-10k down is not an issues. Any help please with a rent to own home with no credit checks?

What should I do about my house, in Las Vegas? We purchased our first home in Jun 2006. It was $280,000. At the time, the average price for a home was just about $280,000. We decided on a 30 year fixed, with a 5% down payment as opposed to all the 80/20s and ARMs that were available. We were tired of renting after years of apartments, and were afraid that we would not be able to afford a home in a few more years --similar to California. We believed the mantra of 'American dream' and 'throwing money away on rent'. Now, our home is worth about $180,000. I hope. Nothing around here is selling. You can find many large, new homes, on big tracts of land, for low prices. Ours is a 3 bedroom, built in the late 70s. It was priced well at the time we bought it. I can continue to make the payments. But...I fear I am making a stupid decision---I will be a financial leper the rest of my life. I don't have any other debt. I think the best thing to do right now is cut my losses. But that seems wrong. Seems worse, though to risk my child's future on this 2006 sized LV mortgage. Do I keep paying, because I can? Or do I walk away? What are the consequences in Nevada? Maybe buy another house now (if someone will lend me th e$) and hope I make money on it and maybe the debt from this one comes out in the wash? Could my hubby and I divorce, one of us takes the debt, the other then still has ability to rent/buy?

Opinion of North Las Vegas neighborhood? I am looking at a Fannie Mae house in North Las Vegas to buy as a rental. Between E. Carey and Lake Mead near Belmont St. A 3 bedroom with 2 full baths and a double attached garage. Built in 2006. Fully remodeled with new carpets. Do they charge extra rent per month for pets in all states? In the state of Nevada, Las Vegas in particular not only charges a pet deposit of $400 but they also charge $30 extra per month for each pet. It is called a pet rental. That is stupid. They don't charge $30 extra per month per kid or adult living in the house. Las Vegas is so greedy.

Want to move to Las Vegas, but not sure where? It's always been my dream to move to Vegas after me and my husband first went and got married there. We've been several times since. We have a young child, so we really need to research good areas to move to, but we are also strapped for cash like everyone else. They intend on renting a three bedroom home right around 1500 a month. She was told it would be 250 a month but now she has been told no it is 500 each. While her cousin and her husband only pay 500 together and would get the master bedroom. THis doesn't seem fair I feel she shouldn't pay more than 350 and that her cousin and her husband should pay more than one single young girl with a smaller room so how much or what percent should she pay in Las vegas?

I have a lease option on a house in las vegas we have paid the owner the last 2 months rent but he didnt pay amtrust bank so he is 2 months past due on mortgage . The house I rent is in foreclosure and being auctioned off.? My wife and I had been getting letters from a mortgage company that we always returned to sender because the owner no longer lives here (Las Vegas, NV). We had no idea what was going on until we came home one day and found a letter taped to the door that said the house was in foreclosure. We took the letter to the rental company and they said they would get to the bottom of it. We haven't heard from the rental company since. Our lease expired on Oct 31st and since the rental company couldn't locate the owner (I found her she lives in Illinois) of the house they put us on a month by month lease. We received a letter from the mortgage company a few days ago (I opened it even though it wasn't addressed to me and yeah yeah yeah I knew it was wrong but I was really scared that I'm going to loose the house). I read the letter and it said the house has been foreclosed upon and it will be auctioned off on Dec 4th at 10am. I'm scared that I will be homeless in about 2 weeks. I lost my job about a month ago and my wife is still working. We don't have the money to deal with this. What are my options? How did the rental company not know the house was in foreclosure? What recourse do I have with the rental company? What do i do?

What to do about roommates girlfriend? Two of us share a new 4 bedroom 2 story house in Las Vegas. We have been roommates for about 3 months now. In the begining we both agreed not to have any more roommates so there wouldn't be any problems since we both can handle the rent.About a month ago, I come home from work and he informs me that this girl he met would be staying for a few days. Well she has never left. Its been about 5 weeks now. My roommate works about 60 hrs a week and myself just 8 hrs a day 5 days a week. Needless to say I was home alone most of the time. He has the master bedroom which is about 3 times the size of my bedroom, we both split the $ 1,400 a month rent $ 700/ $700.Well my problem and complaint is that I went from almost 100% privacy to about 10%. I can't walk naked anymore nor play my music loud because she might be sleeping. Shouldn't I only be paying 1/3 of the rent and utilities at the most, even though this condition is not what we had agreed on. I've lived by myself for the past 20 years.
How do you increase affordable workforce housing in a high growth, yet low wage, area? I live in St. George, Utah (the second fastest growing metro area in the country according to the US Census Bureau a few months ago). Thus, housing prices are high (not as bad as some parts of the USA) while wages are low. People who accept jobs here cannot afford to live here unless they have a lot of money coming into the area. The real growth industries are construction and service, and those usually aren't that high of paying. To compound this problem, a lot of retirees with money retire here, Southern California cash out their equity in their Californian homes and move here with money, and investors with money buy properties to rent. That does not help the worker who has no money and not a high enough wage to buy a house. Many commute to Las Vegas about two hours away since wages are higher there. Any ideas on how to allievate this problem?

How is being an artist in Las Vegas? Hi. I'm an artist living in Boston area. I paint, make jewelery, and also custom designs for houses- like tiles, murals, renovation old furnitures and many other things. Living here is OK, exept I hate snow and I have to work full time job in other proffecion. I'm a household manager and nanny. Living in Boston area is so expencive that just my artwork is just not enaugh for paying bills. And becouse I have a full time job I don't have enaugh time for my art anymore. And this is making me miserable. So, me and my husband are thinking to move to Vegas. We got married there 2 years ago and fell in love with it. We are thinking to buy or rent some place for my art studio and start bussiness. My husband works in a moving company. So he could look for a similar job over there. What can I do with my non-selling house? Okay, so I have a house in North Las Vegas, not the greatest neighborhood. My loan is for 164,000- house is currently listed for 185,000. At this point I don't even care if I come out even. Its been 3 months and no one has even inquired about the house despite flyers, ads, internet ads, and a big sign in the front yard. I found out that an order of default was placed on the home I rent is this a breach of contract? Yesterday I found out my lanlord is three to four months behind on the house I rent and a notice of default was placed on the house. So the process of foreclosure has begun. So can I get out of lease before the house is taken or do I have to fullfill my lease. My lease ends in 6/08. The landlord says he still owns the house so therefore I need to to fullfill my lease regardless of the house begining the foreclosure process. So has he breached our contract. My airconditioner keeps tripping the circuit breaker in my house? I live in Las Vegas it is 116 degrees, I must use my a/c. In the two days the a/c trips the circuit breaker to the house, turning off everything and sending a surge. (I really am worried about the computers and tvs when this happens) I rent, and my landlord replaced the wiring box 5 months ago, but now the wires are black again. I know he needs to buy a new a/c but won't. Any suggestions on how to prevent the tripping of the circuit?

How to get BF cousin out of BoyFriends house he pays no rent and has not for 8 months? house real estate forclosures ny please read on? My question is how low can real estate in brooklyn, ny go down. I mean rent is for two bedroom in nice building is minium like 1400 and even higher and the statistics show that there are not too many vacant rentals in brooklyn this causes the landlord to put a high price on his rentals. Plus every year rent goes up and never down. Everyone is speaking about crashes in real estate but isnt this more for areas that they have lots of vacants for rentals like florida or miami or las vegas where they built too much and dont have enough people for all that construction now?
