I am planning on attending metropolitan state college of Denver next year and my friend is planning on attending the aveda school on 16th street mall in Denver Colorado. We need an affordable apartment or townhouse to stay in. We can each contribute about $400 a month. Is there any helpful website, land lord or Realtor recommendations?

flipping a house in town - rent? It's an ugly (on the outside) house with 5 bedrooms (in a decent location). There is so much potential for this house. We live north of Columbus, OH. A young man is living in this house now, and working on it as he lives there. His plan is to finish 3 rooms downstairs (including one bedroom for himself) and finish the house over time. What should we charge him rent, and who should be responsible for paying the utilities until it is finished? rent on grandmother's house? My grandmother is in a nursing home, and her old home that she still owns, trying to get sold is due to pay rent. My parents are out of town and asked me to take my grandmother's atm card and take care of the rent. Though I went to pay rent, and the bank wouldn't allow me to use my grandmother's card since it has my grandmother's name on it- finally someone that cares about identity protection. Yes, it's frustrating when you try to help out and get denied like this, but I completely understand why the banks rules are in place. So my mother and are trying to figure out what to do since they're out of town for a couple weeks and I'm in town house sitting for them. We decided that I will just go the atm with my grandmother's card and take out the cash to pay rent on her house. But I told her that I'm I think there's a daily limit on how much you can withdraw. My grandmother's atm/debit card I believe is connected to my mom's account. (It's a different card number, but my mom can log into her account and see the activity to my grandmother's account activity as well) and I don't want to take out $300-$350 for rent if it's going to prevent my mom from withdrawing anything and/or since my mother is out of town and the bank sees two transactions in two locations hours apart - that's happened before with my mom and dad not realizing and one being out of state and last time the bank put a freeze on the account for a good 3 days. So if I take out the money to pay rent for my grandmother's house per mother's request and mom needs to use atm card will this cause an alert fr. the bank? Or are we good to go? Thanks for the info.

Is it hard to rent a house without an established job in your new town? We are moving to a new town (by choice, not because of a job), so my husband will be getting a new job once we arrive. He's an ASE certified master teach, and we have researched and jobs are plentiful. My fear comes in renting a house (real estate is HIGH there, plus we want to get to know the area before buying). We have been married 17 years and have never rented - always owned our own homes. Most of the rental applications I've seen ask for 2 pay stubs, gross salary, etc. I have an internet-based business (for the past nine years), so my business goes with me wherever I go, and I have tax returns to show my income. Why do they rent in the same town of they own a house? I want to help but not sure if the truth...? SO my friend and her husband have had many ups and downs (we all have,) but for some reason they chose to stay in a rented apartment. They use to live in the house they owned, then separated and she moved out and rented a apartment. Here's the thing...They got back together a few months ago, and decided to stay in her apartment with their 3 kids. I can't understand why she wants to pay a mortgage, rent, and cram the three kids in a apt. She told me she never wanted to return to that house because every time her and husband would fight, he would kick her out. I explained the home was hers too, and that it's wasting money, and why cram up in a apt. Then I suggested she rent the house out. She asked me for financial advice and this is where I keep getting stuck. I only give my opinion when asked, but I honestly am wondering why they won't rent the house out, or move back into it to accommodate the kids, and their finances. Is it possible that they stop paying the mortgage, or do you really think she just doesn't want to be in that house? It's a nice home, and now their in a questionable neighborhood, living next to her mom. Am I missing something? I want to tell her, there is no way I can help but I don't want to make her uncomfortable, because if they did lose the home...I can understand her embarrassment. What are some of the best apartment/town house communities in Lubbock, Texas to live in? I will be moving to Lubbock, Texas in the next 2 to 3 months and was trying to figure out what part of Lubbock is the best area to live in and of the best people or places to rent from.
Is it more economical to buy a house or rent an apartment? My husband and I have been renting for 4 years (he has been renting longer than that, it is kind of all he knows. I moved out of my parents house into an apartment) We have a daughter and we live in a fairly small town with low real estate rates (in comparison to the rest of the country). he thinks we should keep renting and I think we should look into buying. Is it legal to live in my basement and rent out the house? Hi, I am a single person with a five bedroom house with a partialy finished basement. I was thinking of completing the basement, putting in a bathroom and kitchen. I would then live there and rent out the upper two floors. Is it ok to do this or do you need permission from the town. I live in West Paterson. I mentioned doing this to my brother-in-law who lives next door and he went nuts, saying it is against the law, this is a single family neighborhood, what's wrong with me!
